Proposals for Festival Fringe Campsite at Inch Park

My mailbag has been full with consistuents who are highly concerned about proposals for a campsite on Inch Park during the Edinburgh Fringe.

The issue was initially reported in the Edinburgh Evening News here:

To be clear as local Councillor I do not support these proposals.

I have made a number of urgent enquiries on the matter. By way of background there have been very early negotiations directly on the possibility of a campsite between the company who wish to run it and the Inch Park Community Sports Club, rather than the City of Edinburgh Council. I am told that talks are in the very early stages and no contract or agreement has been signed.

I can also confirm that the Council,as site landlord,is currently establishing whether the terms of the Sports Clubs lease with Edinburgh Council would actually allow them to go forward with a campsite in this way.

I will continue to update constituents as this matter progresses.

Submissions made for pavement upgrades

Firstly, Happy New Year to all.

In response to various requests from constituents and local groups I have lodged funding applications for improvement works to the pavements on Clackmae Road, Clackmae Grove, Leadervale Road and Ellen’s Glen Road.
